Founder’s story

Former Assistant Principal · Educator & Coach · BBC Bitesize Science Advisor

Postgraduate study in Learning and Teaching, University of Oxford.

The person behind the professional was me.

At 27, I had just become Head of Science. I was good at my job and progressing in my career. Privately, I was struggling.

My long-term relationship had ended. I had an 18-month-old and was sleeping on a blow-up mattress in my parents’ living room. I was receiving harassing messages about bills and selling our home, while trying to care for my child and keep everything together.

I kept going to work. Eventually, exhausted, I was involved in a crash with a lorry on the motorway.

Conflict in my previous relationship also meant leaving my master’s in Learning and Teaching at the University of Oxford after one year.

I needed somewhere to speak openly, make sense of what was happening and recognise how it was affecting me—both personally and professionally. Someone to help me ease the mental load, identify the support I needed and take practical next steps.

These experiences shaped OWN.UR.OWN. I bring my background in education and coaching together with lived experience to help people think clearly, prepare practical responses and navigate conflict at home or at work.

People can be excellent at their jobs and still need support. I know, because I was one of them.

For individuals

Support you can access yourself.

You can also book coaching directly or buy practical PDF guides, without an employer partnership. Work independently at your own pace, or work through them live with a coach.
